Felting Workshops 2010

At Threads, felting is fast becoming a popular and exciting crafty past time, and in 2010 we are excited to present some wonderfully different felting workshops along side our traditional favourites and also a monthly absolute beginners workshop too. Below are all the details of our wonderful teachers and workshops confirmed for this year. And if you have the felting bug - keep an eye out, as we have a few other exciting ideas that are close to being confirmed for even more felting fun.

Always wanted to try your hand at felting, but a little daunted by the classes out there? Then our absolute beginners class may well be perfect for you. Time: 9.00 - 1.30pm Cost: $60 plus materials Bookings are essential

Name: Felted Blocked Hats with Phillipa Rooke

Details:
Phillipa Rooke will teach students simple felting techniques to make a beautiful brimmed, blocked hat. Time: 9.00am - 3.00pm Cost : $87.50 per person + materials Bookings are essential

Name: Felted Scarf /Cushion/Wall Hanging with Raewyn Penrose

One day workshop. Create a unique finely felted scarf incorporating basic skills. Learn interesting embellishment techniques and how to work with pre felts. Time: 9.30am - 3.30pm Cost: $110 perperson + materials Bookings are essential

Name: 2 day Felted Teddy class with Raewyn Penrose

Details:
Amazing new felting class! Mr Teddy will delight adults and children alike. He stands 60cm tall, has movable legs aand arms and is irresistable. Learn the technique of 'moulded' felting in this class. Mr Teddy is hand felted, hand stitched and put together with teddy joints. Some felting experience is necessary for this workshop. Time: 9.30am - 3.30pm Cost: $175 per person + materials Bookings are essential

Name: Felted Toys with Raewyn Penrose

Details:

One day workshop. These toys are delightful. They stand 18cm tall and 21cm long. You will create a sculptured bendable toy using a wire frame and wool. Then let your imagination run wild and decorate your creation with yarns and fabrics.

Name: Felted Hats & Bags with Raweyn Penrose

One day workshop. This class takes you to the next level in felting. Using the resist method students will create an individual hat in the morning and then reinforce the procedure in the afternoon creating a small magical bag.
