Fabulous Felted Tote Bag

In this one day workshop you will custom design and create your own moulded felt tote - light, strong and beautiful. Using batts and embellishments, this workshop will extend your felting skills or, for beginnners, spark a passion for a wonderful handicraft. Guided by the beautiful and talented Phillipa Rooke you will start with a 'blank canvas' of naturally coloured Felbi batts, and learn different techniques of surface design using wool top, silk sliver, silk hankies (not your nana's) and fine silk fabric to embellish your tote.  

Materials Supplied

• All equipment for the workshop
• Felbi batts and 50 grams of wool top (your choice from the 'Colour Nuances' range)
• Workshop Notes

Required Supplies

• Two old towels
• Assortment of wool top and silk embellishments (available to purchase in store)
• Assortment of silk fabric to use as embellishments (optional)

   About Phillipa:    

For the past 25 years Phillipa has enjoyed the wonderful art of feltmaking. During that time, she has been involved with felt on a local, national and international level in many capacities including teaching, exhibiting, organising groups, exhibitions and a major felt gathering. In her Threads & More Workshops, Phillipa delights in watching new felters experience the wonder of making a felt piece for the first time as they realise the possibilities of this very ancient art in its contemporary applications
