Advanced Beginners Knitting I – Bits & Bobs

In this single session class, you will learn about: measuring your tension, substituting yarn, creating buttonholes, picking up stitches, blocking & stitching up. Additional tips will be given for completing your project neatly and basic knitting trouble shooting. Students should be comfortable with knitting basics. To get the most out of this workshop, students are required to bring a completed stocking stitch knitted swatch along to the class (swatch details: 15cm square - cast on 38 stitches, in 8ply/DK yarn with 4mm needles, and knit stocking stitch).

Materials Supplied

• A sample of 8ply/DK yarn in different colours
• Notes & pattern

Required Supplies

• Stocking stitch swatch 15cm sqaure (cast on 38 stitches, and knit stocking stitch in 8ply/DK yarn with 4mm needles)
• Set of straight 4mm (US6) knitting needles, (we recommend short needles for this class)
• Tapestry needle (for stitching up and weaving in ends)
